Daily Log: Monday. May 17th, 2010.

I have just started a summer multi-media journalism class. I am doing a story on Anthony Pisano, an 80 year old, who was born in NYC’s Lower East Side and has lived on the same block in the East Village for the past 32 years in his store-front, turned apartment. Follow my process and his story here. For more information about my class and Pisano go to my “iBeat: Anthony Pisano” page located at the top of this blog. Also, check back here for my month-long journey crafting this story with my daily logs, production schedules, and candids.

Monday. May 17th, 2010.  [First Day of iBeat Reporting Class]

Adrian Miahi, my iBeat Reporting Teacher

After a staying an extra 30 min after class talking to Adrian about my piece, I realized that I didn’t have an arch, or through-line for my story. There is so much material here for a good print story, but I am realizing that for a broadcast story the requirements are a bit different. I knew I had to get more info, do more research so I am going to go speak with Anthony some more tomorrow.
